Silvio Levi was born in Milan and still lives there now. After graduating in chemistry and doing research work in the pharmaceuticals and industrial area, he left the sciences in 1995 to join the management of his family business. From that moment on, he has made his new work into a passion and gradually gained accreditation as one of the leading experts in the area known as niche perfumery, where he acts as a mediator between the various actors working in the field and has become their spokesman. This activity of relationship has led to the creation of such meetings as Fragranze, held in Florence under the auspices of Pitti Immagine, and Masterpieces, held at the Bologna Cosmoprof, which bring the sector's most significant brands together.
Since June 2002, Silvio Levi has been writing a regular feature entitled Artistic Perfumes in the monthly magazine Monsieur and has also written other articles on the topic for a variety of other publications.
Silvio Levi was the mover behind the Italian translation of Guy Robert's book
"Les sens du parfum"
(Franco Angeli 2003) and he is also the co-author, together with his friend Ornella Pastorelli, of the book "Leggere il profumo"
(Franco Angeli 2005).
